We are taking tea – a QETTLE cuppa, naturally – with Mo Morshuis, one of Instagram’s favourite interiors and lifestyle creators.
‘It began as a hobby,’ smiles Mo of her charming Instagram account, @mo_morshuis. ‘I shared some photos of my Emma Bridgewater pottery, my family, our dogs and life in Norfolk – and it just grew from there.’
Ten years on from those first posts, Mo’s popularity might have grown – her followers currently number 134,000 – but her content formula hasn’t changed much. Her grid, reels and stories remain a treat for fellow Bridgewater fans, and are interspersed with captures of blustery beach walks and Mo’s exquisitely English cottage garden. And, following a house move and renovation project at the beginning of 2025, Mo has expanded her content’s reach to include shots of her gorgeously eclectic home.
Remodelling her new home’s kitchen, dining and living areas began in the spring of this year – and the new space, where, thanks to an extension and the old kitchen wall being knocked down – cooking, eating, living and relaxing all seem to flow seamlessly is a textbook example of how to create an interior that is both stylish and accessible.
‘I just use what I love,’ says Mo modestly, ‘my style reflects family heirlooms, pieces from far flung destinations and items I’ve found whilst living abroad. The art is to find a way of making all come together!’
Mo says that one of her main objectives was to create a functional, yet attractive, open kitchen where no one would be cut off if they are preparing food, cooking or clearing up. She has prioritised practicality with plenty of storage, and has chosen certain fixtures – including her gunmetal-finished QETTLE Signature Classic 100°C boiling water tap – for convenience.
‘I didn’t have a boiling water tap in my previous house, and although my daughter had had a QETTLE for a year or so, and had sung its praises, it wasn’t until I had my own tap that I realised just how invaluable it is. Of course, it’s invaluable for instant cups of tea, but it’s all the other uses, too – I love being able to fill a saucepan with boiling water – and little things like using it to dissolve a stock cube, rather than faff around, waiting for a kettle boil, is fantastic.’
And if Mo had to choose a favourite use?
‘It’s the speed – I love that I can enjoy a properly good cup of tea in an instant!’
Mo’s new kitchen cabinetry is painted in cashmere – a warm neutral that whilst not obviously complementary, actually works beautifully with the gunmetal finish of her QETTLE tap.
Says Mo, ‘The gunmetal finish is a much softer option than black. It’s much more subtle, and depending upon the light and the time of day, has different hues. I also love the form of the Signature Classic – there aren’t many, truly boiling water taps that offer the option of a more traditional style – and the white lever handles really set off a Belfast sink.’
One thing is for sure, no matter how many speedy QETTLE cuppas Mo enjoys, there’s sure to always be the best choice of mugs!
